Masa Co-founder: Web3 projects should focus on 100 true fans. Increasing user engagement is key.
Calanthia Mei, co-founder of Masa, recently shared her insights on project development at a Web3 growth event. She mentioned that Web3 projects should focus on building a core community of 100 true supporters rather than pursuing a large number of inactive users. This perspective is derived from Kevin Kelly's idea that creators only need 100 true fans, not 1,000.
Mei also emphasized the importance of formulating corresponding incentive measures for different user groups. She suggested attracting early users and stimulating their interest and participation through various paths such as developer testnets, proof of concepts, and action-based tasks.
For mainstream Web3 projects, Mei proposed several methods to increase their influence. These include promoting through social media and opinion leaders, organizing special events, seizing public relations opportunities, and collaborating with authoritative research institutions. These strategies aim to help projects achieve broader dissemination and recognition.
These insights were presented during a two-day growth hacking camp. The event brought together top projects and well-known investors that achieved significant rise in the past six months to discuss key topics including personal brand building, marketing strategies, community culture cultivation, and user acquisition and retention. Through these in-depth discussions, participants hoped to better understand and apply effective growth strategies.
